Privacy Policy

Who we are

AroodMe (“we”, “us”) operates the AroodMe Club mobile app and website. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it and what rights you have. It applies to the app, the website and any related services (the “Service”).

Data we collect

We only collect what we need to run the membership:

  • Account basics — first name (optional) and mobile number. Your mobile number is how we identify your membership.
  • Onboarding preferences — city, the kinds of items you buy out (coffee, juice, bowls, etc.), how often you buy them and a typical spend. This is used to personalise the Packs we show you.
  • Approximate location — if you grant location permission in the app, we use your coordinates to sort nearby Merchants by distance. We do not continuously track your location in the background.
  • Payment data — billing is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We receive a subscription status, plan, renewal date and a Stripe customer ID.
  • Usage data — redeemed Packs, device type, app version, crash logs and basic analytics events so we can fix bugs and improve the Service.

How we use your data

  • To create and run your membership.
  • To show you relevant Packs near you.
  • To process payments and prevent fraud (via Stripe).
  • To send you transactional messages — membership confirmation, receipts, Pack reminders and important updates to this policy.
  • To support you when you contact us.
  • To comply with legal obligations in the UAE.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with advertisers.

Who we share data with

  • Supabase — our backend and database host. Your account record, redemptions and preferences are stored on Supabase.
  • Stripe — our payment processor. Stripe collects and stores your card details under its own privacy policy.
  • Apple & Google — if you use an Apple Wallet or Google Wallet pass, the relevant wallet provider receives the pass data.
  • Merchants — when you redeem a Pack, the Merchant sees only what they need to confirm redemption (for example a redemption code and first name). They do not receive your mobile number.
  • Law enforcement or regulators — only where legally required.

Where your data is stored

Our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Stripe) may store and process data outside the UAE, including in the EU and the US. We rely on their standard contractual clauses and security certifications for cross-border transfers.

How long we keep your data

We keep your account while your membership is active and for a reasonable period after cancellation to meet tax, accounting and dispute resolution obligations. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see “Your rights” below); we will delete or anonymise your data unless we are legally required to keep it.

Your rights

Subject to local law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to delete your data.
  • Object to or restrict certain uses.
  • Withdraw consent (for example, revoke location permission).

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@aroodme.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Children

The Service is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), row-level security on our database, and restricted staff access. No online service can be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies

Our website uses a small number of essential cookies to run the checkout flow and remember your session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date at the top and notify you inside the app or by the contact details you gave us.
